Proudly known as the ‘birthplace of Australian forestry’, Bundaleer Forest offers a great location for walking, cycling, picnicking and exploring.

Appila Springs

A natural spring with geological formations that was widely used in the late 1800’s to water stock travelling to the local stock markets at Jamestown and Gladstone. This scenic and tranquil site is 8km north-east of Appila is home to many native plant and animal species. Pack a picnic, and enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounds, whilst learning about the local environment from the information display boards.

RM Williams

Born and raised at Belalie North, Reginald Murray Williams started his outback career on his family farm and went on to become one of Australia’s best known businessmen.

Learn about the outback legend at the RM Williams interpretive centre located opposite Memorial Park. The open-air centre features information boards, an impressive chainsaw carved wooden bust of RM Williams, picnic tables, shady trees, and is free.
